Product Service Manager

Position Purpose: To direct a crew of mechanics to efficiently manage the maintenance and repair of heavy construction equipment.

Essential Functions:
1. Accept requests for maintenance and repair of machines.
2. Determine pricing and prepare quotes for customers.
3. Assign appropriate service technician to perform the work within the hours quoted.
4. Determine which repairs are warrantable vs. customer billing.
5. Monitor progress of repairs and keep customer informed of progress.
6. Review completed work order and submit for closure.
7. Monitor work in progress on a daily basis; keep labor to maximum allowed.
8. Track and schedule factory campaigns and sure they are completed within deadlines.
9. Maintain parts returns from technicians to established percentage goals.
10.Actively oversee safety practices of employees and correct as needed; actively support, enforce and support safety compliance and training.
11. Actively manage employee performance appraisals in a productive, timely manner.
12. Maintain open and continuous communications with management on work issues and employee matters.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school or the equivalent education.
2. Five years experience as a heavy equipment service technician, two of which in a lead role.
3. Experience/formal training in management concepts and practices.
4. Computer literacy a must.
5. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
6. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
