General Parts Manager to 145k base

General Parts Manager Responsibilities

Manage day to day functions and staff of the parts department at 2 locations, including parts sales, shipping and receiving, marketing, and policy.

Train, develop, and evaluate parts staff including hiring and firing recommendation

Responsible for profitability of the departments

In depth knowledge and understanding of income statements.

Manage inventory control and content of the 2 locations, including producing stock orders and organizing supplier returns.

Manage maintenance of parts price files

Manage parts related shipping and receiving

Oversee accounts payable process for parts related invoices with company

Inform annual budgets

Manage expenses and assets within the parts department

Design and maintain processes to achieve all of the above while reducing costs and continuously improving customer service.

Promoting an extreme sense of urgency

Developing strong relationships with appropriate upper management personnel at the manufacturers we represent

Outsourcing for improved margins

Monitor open quotes to assure proper follow up.

Also monitoring and being proactive on these Key Performance Indicators:

Freight recovery

Sales/employee

Availability off the shelf

Stock orders vs. emergency orders by manufacturer

Tracking and analyzing lost sales

Phone calls per person
