POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform diagnostic and service repairs, including but not limited to engine, hydraulic and electrical, and provides superior service and represents professional image.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
- Ability to properly and completely fill out all service reports, machine checklists and other service reports within department guidelines.
- Completes all paperwork before moving on to next job; communicates extra time needed to complete tasks to immediate supervisor.
- Ability to use brand related parts and service manuals.
- Works in an efficient manner in the shop or field
- Perform complete visual inspection of equipment and notes deficiencies as part of preventive maintenance service.
- Able to perform inspections.
- Capable of component and/or sub-component changes using prescribed guidelines, on all equipment.
- Capable of troubleshooting using prescribed guidelines and documentation.
- Keep current with industry standards.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, with excellent work ethic, neat appearance and good communication skills. Take full ownership of job.
- Use safe working practices and adhere to all safety initiatives.
- Keep efficiency rates high.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
MINIMUM Three years of heavy equipment diagnostic and repair experience within a heavy equipment dealership. Ability to perform high quality repairs, in an efficient fashion. Must be able to work independently and able to work in a Field environment when called upon. Ability to use resources for information (when written documentation is not available), has good decision making practices and ability to follow directions. Demonstrates effective communication, representing professional image. Must have good organizational skills and ability to write technically descriptive and thorough service reports.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Knowledge of application, operation and function of engine, hydraulic and electric systems, including reading electrical diagrams. Efficient problem solving techniques and repair options using prescribed guidelines. Use, maintenance and application of all company diagnostic tools required for the assigned task.
Advanced level experience in any of the following:
- Caterpillar
- Liebherr
- Case
- John Deere
- Vermeer
- Komatsu
- Atlas
- Ingersoll Rand
